President Tinubu Commissions Landmark Projects in Imo: A Testament to Uzodimma's Infrastructure Drive

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Owerri on Tuesday for a pivotal one-day working visit, during which he inaugurated the Assumpta Flyover and other landmark infrastructure projects executed by the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

The presidential aircraft touched down at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, signaling a significant moment of collaboration and progress between the Federal and State Governments.

Unveiling Critical Infrastructure

The President's itinerary was focused on commissioning key projects that directly impact the daily lives and economy of the people of Imo State. These commissioned works include:

  • The newly completed Assumpta Flyover, a critical component of Owerri's urban renewal plan.

  • The reconstructed 60-kilometre dual carriage Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia Federal Road, which drastically improves inter-state commerce and mobility.

  • The newly built 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, Owerri, poised to boost tourism, business, and political engagement in the state.

These projects stand as tangible proof of Governor Uzodimma's unwavering commitment to infrastructure development and urban regeneration—a commitment that continues to earn him national acclaim.

A Celebration of Governance and Democracy

Beyond the infrastructure drive, the President’s visit also included the public presentation of Governor Uzodimma’s fourth book, entitled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.”

The book meticulously documents Nigeria’s democratic journey and governance achievements under the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the past ten years. The presentation served as a platform to reflect on the importance of progressive leadership and sustained development across the nation.

To ensure citizens could participate fully in receiving the President, the Imo State Government, through the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Mr. Rex Anunobi, ordered the temporary closure of eight markets in the state capital, requesting that all traders and residents come out en-masse to welcome the President.

President Tinubu's visit was not just ceremonial; it was a powerful endorsement of the strategic, impactful governance currently transforming Imo State.
